Privacy policy

CA Happy Care LTD. provides home care and community support across the Greater Toronto Area. We are responsible for the personal information you give us, and we handle it in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

When you use the enquiry form on this website, we collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number, if you provide it
• Who the support is for — yourself, a family member or friend, or a professional referral
• The best time to reach you
• Whatever you choose to tell us in the message field

We also collect standard website analytics through Google Analytics: pages visited, approximate location, browser and device type, and how you arrived at the site. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry, to work out whether we are the right provider for your situation, and to arrange care if you decide to go ahead. We do not use your details for anything else, and we do not add you to marketing lists without asking.

Sensitive information

Enquiries about care often include health information — a diagnosis, a recent fall, a hospital discharge. You are not obliged to tell us any of it to make an initial enquiry, and we ask that you share only what you are comfortable sharing until we have spoken.

Anything you do tell us is treated as confidential and is seen only by the people who need it to arrange your care.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

We share it only in these circumstances:

• With our own staff and support workers, so far as they need it to provide your care
• With a healthcare provider or agency, where you have asked us to or given consent
• Where we are required to by law, or where there is a risk of serious harm to someone

Where it is stored

Enquiries sent through this website arrive by email and are stored in our business mailbox. The website is hosted by IONOS. Analytics data is processed by Google. Some of these providers store data outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.

How long we keep it

If you enquire and do not become a client, we keep your enquiry for up to twelve months and then delete it. If you become a client, we keep records for as long as we provide care and for the period afterwards required for insurance and regulatory purposes.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for basic functionality and for Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some things may behave differently.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
• Withdraw consent for us to contact you, at any time

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
